The World’s Leading Financial Centre The City of London is now only a tiny area in the centre of London which forms the historic core of London, along with Westminster. This is the financial hub of London from where the city started. As it is almost exactly one square mile (2.6 km²) in area it is often referred to as the City or the Square Mile 
The City’s Skyline
Besides being the financial centre on London, there a few sights to see and things to do in this borough. St Paul's Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral on Ludgate Hill, and is the seat of the Bishop of London. The present building dates from the 17th century and is generally reckoned to be London's fifth St Paul's Cathedral. The cathedral sits on the edge of London’s city and originated as a Roman trading post along the edge of the River Thames.

 Another thriving attraction in London’s city is the hub of Britain’s newspaper publishing industry, Fleet Street, which now hosts some very historic pubs, beautiful old churches and large financial buildings.
 If you take a stroll down to Fleet Street, you can still wallow in the rich history of the area which stretches from the Strand towards Ludgate Hill. It takes its name from one of the many rivers flowing beneath London's streets to the Thames; Fleet River.
 Some of the better known pubs on the street includes El Vino's wine bar and Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese (pictured right). Fleet Street is definitely a vibrant place to be with endless exploring of the historic culture to be done!
