Enfield is a borough in the north of London. If you are looking for a teaching role in Enfield you will be impressed by the wide variety of schools, ranging from small one-form primaries to large inner-city secondaries.

Enfield is not only a great place it teach, it is also a lovely place to live, two-thirds of Enfield is open space or designated green belt land, with 16 conservation areas and 400 listed buildings. The River Lea runs through Enfield and is a beautiful place to take a walk.

After a day of teaching you can find peace and quiet in the residential areas. Renting property here will be cheaper than more central locations in London.

Arriving at your teaching job in Enfield is easily done as the area is accessible from other parts of London and just 20 minutes from central London. Enfield is served by the Piccadilly Line of the London Underground with stations at Arnos Grove, Southgate, Oakwood and Cockfosters (where the line terminates). Suburban National Rail services also operate on several lines in the borough. There are also numerous bus services throughout the borough.

The main roads running through the borough include the North Circular Road, the M25, Green Lanes, the A10 and the old Hertford Road (A1010).

A major redevelopment of Edmonton Green including the shopping centre, and housing started in 1999. This is still on-going, and provides new housing, health facilities, a new leisure centre, a supermarket, and many other civic features.

Many local activities are located around the A10 road which has a number of large retail outlets and a large multiplex Cineworld cinema. The western part of Enfield is largely residential, with shopping centres in Southgate, Palmers Green and Cockfosters. There is a market place in Enfield Town.
