TimePlan London works with over 2000 schools and educational establishments throughout London. We work with a range of schools and so we are sure we can find the right match for you!

I would like to recommend TimePlan as they are one of the few agencies that only supply staff to educational establishments, ensuring quality education. They were the first agency and have the educational needs of the pupils at the heart of their philosophy.

The service our school has received is of good quality. They visit the school and the teachers to ensure our specific needs are met as fully as possible. We have always found them honest and work with complete transparency.

TimePlan’s commitment, responsible attitude and attention to detail is what makes the company outstanding. I really appreciate that TimePlan takes the time to support teachers, especially when they are new to the UK. They keep in regular contact with them and provide ongoing training and induction sessions.

TimePlan is now the only Supply Teacher Agency we use because of their reliability and their matching of schools requirements and standards.

Interview with Susy Stone; Headteacher at Bell Lane Primary School

Q1 Why did you become in the project to recruit overseas teachers?

Bell Lane Primary has recruited many overseas teachers and have always been impressed with their adaptability and confidence in their own teaching ability. We look to recruit teachers who are familiar with the UK education system and a vast majority of overseas teachers are. In addition to this, overseas teachers bring to the classroom other approaches to teaching. London schools are very multicultural, so I like the fact that they can offer different perspectives and cultures to our school. We have had Australian teachers teaching our pupils about Aboriginal culture and New Zealanders doing the Haka which the pupils found fascinating and enjoyed immensely.

Q2
What have been the highlights of having overseas staff in your school?

The best thing about having overseas trained staff in our school is the strong friendships that are made between them and other staff. It is nice to have colleagues who can bring some variety to both the classroom and staffroom. Staff are very supportive of overseas teachers and the school becomes part of their support system, almost like family.

Q3
How have you found the services provided by TimePlan?

Our school uses TimePlan exclusively because we have built up a good relationship with them. They take the time to understand how the school works and because of the TimePlan knows the school’s needs. We know that the standard of the teachers placed in our school will be of the highest quality and will be perfectly suited to the position.

Q4
Is there any advice you would give to overseas teachers?

Teachers need to be flexible and able to adapt to the British education system. They should aim to become fully integrated into the school and local community. Building a good rapport with staff and pupils can often lead to regular supply or permanent placements.
