Behaviour – SEAL (Social & Emotional Aspects of Learning)

All schools have a Behaviour policy and protocol.  All pupils in schools should be aware of the rewards and sanctions applicable to their age.  Behaviour management is focussed on positive interventions in most UK schools.  Whichever school you work in, you will need to find out how their behaviour codes are enforced.

On the National Strategy home page http://nationalstrategies.standards.dcsf.gov.uk below, you will see under the sections labelled “Primary”, “Secondary” and “Inclusion” under the sub-sections Behaviour, Attendance and SEAL, some very good advice on optimising good behaviour and suggested management strategies.

Do bear in mind that behaviour varies from school to school and that as a professional, over a period of time, you will get better at classroom management.
