It is also one of London’s greenest boroughs, located between Epping Forest and the River Lee (http://www.waterscape.com/canals-and-rivers/river-lee).

 
Epping Forest is the largest public open space in the London area. It is a popular area for recreation and enjoyment, and is also of national and international conservation importance with two thirds of it being designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation.
 
 
Some famous people that were born in Waltham Forest include William Morris, founder of the British Arts and Crafts movement, writer and pioneer of the socialist movement in Britain, as well as David Beckham, Sir Alfred Hitchcock and Iron Maiden.
