The City of Westminster A fantastic place to teach! This London borough lies in the heart of London on the north bank of the River Thames. Although Westminster is busy and vibrant, there is also a large residential population and great opportunities to teach as there are 41 primary schools and 10 secondary schools in the borough. There are also a range of independent schools in which you can teach. Applying for a teaching role in Westminster will mean you are at the center of it all!

When you are not teaching in the classroom there is also plenty to keep you busy. Westminster has a large concentration of London's historic and prestigious landmarks and visitor attractions including: Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and The Palace of Westminster (see below), a UNESCO World Heritage Site which houses the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
Some of the best shopping in London, with Covent Garden's market, the boutiques of Soho and Carnaby Street, and the department stores around Oxford Street (see below), Regent Street and Bond Street.
There are numerous green spaces in Westminster, these include Green Park, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Regent's Park (see picture below) and St James's Park.
London’s West End and Soho with dozens of theatres and music venues, and hundreds of bars and restaurants.
TRANSPORT Schools in Westminster are easily accessible so you will not have to travel for too long to get to your teaching job. Being in central London the transport links are good, there are a number of mainline stations such as Charing Cross, Marylebone, Paddington and Victoria which serve this borough as well as 27 tube stations, and 10 of the 12 Underground lines. It will be easy to get to any school due to the multitude of buses and tubes.
