Getting Around the Capital

London has a large and intricate transport system. From the vast underground network to the use of waterbuses on the Thames, there is a huge number of ways you can travel from one side of London to the other.
In Greater London there are approximately 8500 miles of roads, 2000 miles of bus routes, 200 miles of Tube lines, 20 miles of new tramways and 500 miles of national rail lines. Cycle routes are mapped out throughout the capital and there is a also a number of waterbuses that serve locations up and down the Thames.
