NHS Direct - walk-in centres, online and telephone services

The NHS has a number of NHS Direct walk-in centres, offering fast and convenient access to healthcare advice and treatment for minor injuries and illnesses. No appointment is needed and experienced NHS nurses carry out assessments. They are open 7 days a week and can also give you advice on local pharmacy services. These centres are open to everyone. They do not replace local GP or hospital services, but exist to complement them.
