Finding a Teaching Position
There are many ways to get a teaching job - ultimately it boils down to applying direct to a school or LEA, registering with an agency or using the online recruitment service. If you are applying to an LEA for pool, remember that local education authorities may not be able to guarantee a graduating student a specific school. LEAs vary, and you should ask them what their individual policies are.

Filling out a Form
Some forms will be designed specifically for a first teaching appointment, many will not. You need to use your initiative when completing each form, writing N/A (Not Applicable) in answer to questions which are clearly inappropriate to your situation e.g. 'Previous Teaching Posts'.

Writing your CV
For the majority of teaching posts you will be expected to fill in an application form. However, if you are asked to 'apply in writing' it is good practice to provide a well-structured CV with a letter of application.
