  • You've looked around the school. Give your general impressions from what you have observed.
  • What makes you a valuable teacher?
  • What has attracted you to this particular school?
  • Tell me about one of your most/least successful lessons and why.
  • What made you train to be a teacher?
  • What makes a successful teacher?
  • What particular qualities/skills would you bring to this school?
  • What are your strengths and/or weaknesses?
  • Which aspects of your college course have you found most interesting?
  • In what ways has your course prepared you to teach?
  • What is your view on the national curriculum?
  • What have you gained from teaching practice?
  • What subject expertise could you offer to our school?
  • What is your view on the use of reading schemes?
  • Which schemes are you familiar with - what are the pros and cons of each?
  • How will you monitor children's progress?
  • How will you organise your classroom?
  • What work structures will you use with your class?
  • What particularly attracts you to the age range you wish to teach?
  • What is your view on the role of parents in their child's education?
  • How have you coped with any difficulties you have had in the classroom?
  • How would you deal with behaviour problems in your class?
