What is there to do in Islington?

Islington is a large borough stretching from Farringdon at one end to Arsenal at the other engulfing Angel, Clerkenwell and Newington Green on the way. Upper Street, in Angel, is a highlight and provides a rich mix of restaurants, lively bars, boutiques, theatres, cinemas and gig venues – great for teachers wanting to unwind after a hard days work.

As for the sportier among you, there are over 100 parks around Islington so there is plenty of space to have a kick around with friends before heading over to Arsenal football statium to watch a game. Or why not give Sadler’s Wells a visit to check out some contemporary dance?

There are relatively cheap residential areas close to the bars and restaurants which mean that you never have to travel far to have a good night out or a quiet evening with friends. And there are excellent travel links including Angel Underground Station on the Northern Line and Highbury and Islington on the Victoria Line for those trips to the city centre. Furthermore, many bus routes run to and from the centre and the city which can both be reached in less than twenty minutes in good traffic!

All in all, Islington is the perfect London borough for teachers who want a good work life balance!
