Islington PDF Print E-mail

Islington is a large borough which lies to the north of Central London and within close proximity to the West End (two miles) and the City of London (one mile).

Upper Street is the main thoroughfare, lined with hundreds of boutiques, lively bars, restaurants and two cinemas.

The beautiful Regent’s Canal runs through Islington and is a fantastic walk.

Islington is famous for its Georgian architecture and has some beautiful tree-lined Georgian streets and twenty squares.

It was previously the home of Tony Blair and is still inhabited today by politicians and media professionals.   Islington has excellent travel links with Angel Underground Station on the Northern Line and Highbury and Islington on the Victoria Line. Many bus routes run to and from the centre and the city which can both be reached in under twenty minutes in good traffic!
