Situated in East London, this borough is a great place to consider one of our many teaching jobs in Newham. It’s just three miles from the city, and covers much of London’s docklands area.
Newham was one of the boroughs that was home to the 2012 Olympic Games; as a result the area received a huge investment which has resulted in Newham becoming the hub of East London.
Historic features of the area include the Royal Docks, built in the 1850s, which stretch from one side of Newham to the other and encloses the country’s largest area of dock water.
Newham includes Stratford, West Ham, Canning Town, Upton Park, Beckton, Custom House, Forest Gate, Manor Park and Plaistow and we work with many of the schools in these areas.
We have excellent relationships with schools throughout Newham and we currently have many happy teachers and teaching assistants working in long-term jobs in primary, secondary and special needs schools. Whether you are interested in daily or long term cover we have lots of opportunities throughout Newham.
For those of you who enjoy some retail therapy look no further than Westfield Stratford City. It is the 3rd largest shopping centre in the UK! Westfield’s closest station is Stratford on the Central and Jubilee lines and there is also an overground station here too. The shopping centre is host to international and local designer brands. You can also enjoy ice skating, the cinema or tenpin bowling in the Westfield Complex.
Newham is also home to West Ham United Football Club. Home games are played at Boleyn Ground in Upton Park.
Choosing to live and teach in Newham means that you can enjoy everything that London has to offer without the enormous rental costs of other, more central boroughs in London!
